How to Access the Data
All requests to use the Discover dataset come through the Data Access Committee (DAC), which includes patient representatives. Find out how you can access the data below, or explore all the approved requests here.
The Discover dataset is a deidentified mirror of the Whole System Integrated Care dataset (WSIC). For clinicians looking for access to the data for direct care, please visit the WSIC page.
For researchers, commissioners and industry partners looking to access the dataset for secondary purposes, find out how to do so below. Or see more in our Acceptable Use Policy Guidance.

Applications for access to the Discover dataset are reviewed by the NWL Data Access Committee (DAC). The DAC meets on the third Thursday of each month to review all applications submitted that month. Please note the applications received within a week of the DAC meeting will be reviewed the following month.
A decision on the approval of your application will be made and sent via email within one week of the relevant DAC meeting. If your application has been approved by the DAC, you will receive an email with further instruction, including what additional information we need from you to grant access. If your application is unsuccessful, you will receive feedback from the DAC and be invited to reapply.
